Universal primer for absorbent mineral or organic surfaces indoors. Especially for use as a transparent first coat on cork, floor tiles or wood based materials. For solidifying and priming porous surfaces, especially cork floors or unglazed floor tiles for subsequent treatment with AGLAIA Hard Resin Oil. As a primer for wood based materials such as chipboards, for insulating water-soluble, bleeding substances, in particular prior to coating with AGLAIA wall paints or fiber plasters. Also for solidifying sanding, crumbly mineral plasters indoors.

AURO 124 is a transparent primer for the preparation of interior and exterior timber. Use prior to further treatment with 253 Undercoat [see below], 160 Wood Stains or 184 Woodwax [see Woodcare and Other section]. Dust dry in 6–9 hours, re-coatable after 24 hours.

AURO 117 Special Primer is recommended for use on woods rich in tannins, such as oak, chestnut and cherry. This product can also be used as a primer for the water based wood finishes.
The alternative, AURO 127 water based primer, is not recommended for use on woods rich in tannins, such as oak, chestnut and cherry – as drying times will be extended. 117 Special Primer, which contains some citrus solvent, is recommended in these circumstances.

AURO 253 is a white undercoat for use between 124 Wood Primer [see above] and 260 Silk Paint or 250 Gloss Paint [see Paint / Paint for Wood section]. On interior surfaces 124 Primer see above] can be substituted by an initial coat of 253 diluted with 10% water. Dust dry in 6-9 hours, re-coatable after 24 hours.

General purpose, deeply penetrating priming oil for wood, for both indoor and outdoor use. Dries tack-free and is non-swelling. Contains no biocides. Exclusively made from natural raw materials. AGLAIA Wood Primer is especially suitable for priming exposed absorbent wood outside such as windows, formwork or framework. Also for universal indoor use, for pretreating parquet or solid wood. When used on light colored woods, a most attractive grain emphasising effect is obtained. Contains no biocides so check for wood protection. Further treatment with AGLAIA lacquers or glazes.
